Spring 2001 Gaultier dress - S/M
very sexy dress from Jean Paul Gaultier’s Spring 2001 ready to wear runway. fashioned like a blazer, the piece has a stretch panel that fits over the hips, elongating the design into a dress. the slim shawl collar creates a plunging neckline that would require a little double-stick tape to keep in place were it to be worn alone without undergarments. you can layer this dress over a long slip for an interesting and more modest look as well. wool and silk blend, the material has some structure but also a softness allowing it to drape. beautifully constructed.
excellent vintage condition - professionally cleaned.
made in Italy. 92% wool, 8% silk (stretch band is 51% rayon, 30% nylon 19% spandex).
marked US 8, best fits US 2-4-6. the smaller the frame the more it can be worn low as a drop-waist dress (while remaining still quite revealing). on a 6-8 the dress would fit more snug, sit higher and could require a layered piece underneath (how it was worn on runway). always consult the measurements provided, however, as well as our size guide if needed.
