rare dress from the collectible Phoebe Philo years at Céline, specifically the Spring 2013 collection, one of the favourites of her reign. the dress walked as look #24, paired with a long sleeveless vest. it consists of a top portion with a shallow v-neck collar made of a thick satin fabric in a creamy white laid over a knee length dress, the skirt portion visible, in a different, slightly shinier, thinner satin in a similar cream. both the top and bottom portion have an unfinished hem, which was part of the design approach for the collection, specifically meant to juxtapose the typical elegance of Céline with a more décontracté, slouchy feel. the star of the show is the back of the dress, where the top portion widens out and reveals a black mesh. there are concealed pockets at each hip.

good vintage condition. there is some slight puckering to the satin on the skirt portion of the dress, especially on the left side, near the side hem, which being a satin, shows imperfections a little more than a matte fabric would. this is due to the fact that the lining and satin on the skirt are no longer entirely fused together. when we first noticed this, we used steam to entirely unfuse the fabrics, though when we then got the dress professionally pressed afterwards the fusing came together again in certain spots, resulting in the slightest of puckering. the resulting imperfection is very subtle and with proper pressings the dress will continue to be wearable for years to come. priced as is, taking into account the flaw. the dress is otherwise in very good condition and has been dry-cleaned and is ready to be worn. 

made in France. one satin is 67% viscose and 33% cupro, the other is 100% cupro, the black mesh is 80% polyamide and 20% elastane, lining is 100% silk. marked 34, best fits XS or US 0-2 maybe 4, as it's meant to fit boxy away from the body a bit. shown here on US 0 mannequin with 32" bust and 33.5" hips.
