S/S 2006 Lanvin by Alber Elbaz black satin dress with obi style bow - XS/S
beautiful brushed silk blend satin Lanvin dress from when Alber Elbaz was head designer, more specifically their Spring 2006 collection which Vogue praised for its modern approach to minimalism. the collection was peppered by this pressed bow evoking the famous obi that sits at the bottom of the open back on our dress, which didn't walk the runway exactly in this version but in similar ones.
the dress has the same high neck and boxy, mod shift cut as the runway version, except that the runway dress placed the bow in front and ours has it at the base of the low cut back. we love how wide and square the cut is to the opening, allowing a wide expanse of back to show. concealed pockets at each hip. the dress has no closure and due to its boxy cut just slips over the wearer's head. also, due to its boxy cut we feel like it could be worn backwards for a whole different look.
the dress is made of a brushed, flat silk and cotton blend satin with a raw silk bow and a gauzy silk chiffon lining.
very good vintage condition, no real flaws to note. dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.
