S/S 1997 Prada rare sheer silk dress and slip with ribbon detail set - XS/S

beautiful and very rare set from Prada's beloved Spring 1997 collection consisting of a semi-sheer butter yellow silk dress and a sheer silk slip in a similar colourway but with a more peach undertone. the light, creamy butter yellow dress has a geometric ribbon detail at the waist and hem, which we saw in a few instances on the runway that season, usually layered underneath another sheer silk piece. we photographed the pieces here with the dress over the slip to give you a good idea of the dress, though it could also be worn under the slip, for a more décontracté, unexpected feel, and both pieces could be worn individually, giving you a total of four looks. the butter yellow dress is slightly less sheer than the slip. these ribbon pieces are much more rare than the vine pieces that we see from this particular collection and we have yet to see another available.

the dress has a zipper closure along the left side and the slip simply "slips" over the wearer's head.

excellent vintage condition. note that only the slip has the Prada tag or any tag for that matter, though they are obviously a set and both have the same dipped v in back. dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.

made in Italy. no material tag but silk. marked 40, best fits XS/S or US 0-2-4. the dress is cut quite boxy and meant to be worn away from the body but the silk is delicate enough to be bunched in by the slip if worn over top. the slip is cut on the bias so there is some flexibility there. shown here on US 0 mannequin.
