iconic and very collectible documented suit from the famous S/S 1995 Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld collection, also known as the Barbie collection. the suit walked the runway in different pastels with slight variations at the collar - ours, in a minty pastel green, amongst them.

the suit consists of a single breasted tweed jacket with no collar and a row of buttons adorned with the famous interlocking "C"s down the front, as well as at each sleeve cuff. it has a beautiful fitted corset style band in the middle, a cheeky addition that Karl used to subvert the typical Chanel suit. the tweed skirt is cut at a mini length, with a simple zipper and clasp at the back. the jacket has the famous gold toned chain sewn into the bottom of the jacket, to give it heft and ensure it falls just right. both the jacket and skirt are lined in beautiful mint green silk, with the interlocking "C"s subtly featured throughout.

very good vintage condition. there was some tearing/shredding to the silk lining at the underarms on both sides. the lining was repaired by a seamstress to conserve the original silk where appropriate and replace it when necessary. this issue is only in the underarms and does not show at all when worn. the original clasp on the skirt was replaced. a few marks at the tag. otherwise the suit is in excellent condition and presents beautifully. it is dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.

made in France. 46% cotton, 21% acrylic, 19% wool, 12% nylon, 1% viscose, 1% polyester and 100% silk lining. marked size FR40, best fits US 4-6 or roughly FR36. shown here on a US 2 mannequin with 32" bust and 34" hips, though the skirt was clamped on the photos without the jacket to show the skirt's intended fit. in all other photos the suit was not clamped and simply fits a little too large.
