S/S 1992 Rifat Ozbek documented jacket with silver detail and velvet cuff - XS/S

special jacket from designer Rifat Ozbek's Spring 1992 collection. cut long and slim, no collar, the jacket has a slight marching band feel, with the ornamentation down the front and velvet cuff at the wrist. the jacket was shown in a few iterations that season, mostly where the ornamentation in the front was in plastic meant to resemble bone and with red or yellow velvet at the sleeve. ours, which wasn't shown on the runway, has a slightly more sleek approach, with the metal hardware replacing the plastic and tone on tone black velvet cuff. the runway version is in the permanenet collection of both the Victor and Albert Museum and the MET and was featured heavily that season in editorial and promotional materials, including on Céline Dion for her single Think Twice.

made in Italy. 62% acetate 38% rayon with 60% acetate 40% rayon lining. no size marked, fits XS/S or US 0-2 maybe 4. shown here on US 0 mannequin with 32" bust 23.5" waist 33.5" hips.
