beautiful dress from the Pre-Fall 2009 Alexander McQueen collection, when Lee was still at the helm of the fashion house. a similar style was shown in black velvet in the presentation that season, and a near identical version was initially featured in his F/W 2004 collection. the dress is made of red silk satin, bias cut, and draped in a way that a panel falls off the shoulder in back, attaching to the hem of the skirt. the sleeves are fluted, with an almost bubble effect at each cuff. there is the slightest of gathering and darting at the bust, outlining the shape for a flattering fit. and of course the open back, accented by discreet horizontal ties to ensure a great hold, if desired. 

excellent vintage condition. dry-cleaned and ready to be worn. 

made in Italy. 100% silk. marked 42, best fits S/M or US 4-6 and the draped cut is meant to just glide around the body, though the bias cut allows for some flexibility of course. shown here fitting too large on a US 0 mannequin with 32" bust 23'5" waist and 33.5" hips.
