silk midi dress from design house Pierre Balmain with a bright, large scale multi-colour floral on a white background. best dated to the 1980s, most likely post the death of the designer who passed in 1982. fitted in the bodice, with puffed sleeve and a subtle draped layer crossing over the bust, laying over the shoulder, and crossing back over the back. there is also extra layered draping over the left shoulder, exaggerating the puff on that side. the skirt is cut straight, with slight gathering at the waist, giving just a little volume through the skirt and a nice little shape at the hip. concealed pockets at each hip. silk, with a slight sheen, the dress will be comfortable in the heat.

very good vintage condition, no real flaws to note. freshly dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.
