1970s Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche velvet "le smoking" double-breasted jacket with trim - S/M
beautiful jacket from Yves Saint Laurent's ready-to-wear Rive Gauche line. best dated to the 1970s, the jacket is a tuxedo style, in a rich, what feels like cotton, burgundy velvet with black, what feels like silk, trim. it is double-breasted, with sculpted, slightly padded shoulders, and has a breast pocket and two hip pockets on the front, accented by the same black trim.
very good vintage condition - small flaw on the right arm, up near the shoulder, where the nap of the velvet appears to have been slightly damaged (see final slide). dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.
made in France. no fabric tag present - feels like cotton velvet and acetate lining. marked 36, best fits S/maybe M or US 2-4 maybe 6, depending on desired effect. shown here on US 2 mannequin with 32" bust and 34" hips.
