1970s Halston classic taupe ultrasuede jacket - S/M/L
classic jacket from American designer Halston who changed the landscape of fashion in the 1970s. one of his biggest innovations was ultrasuede - a synthetic material meant to resemble suede but without the finickiness that suede can present (and famously worn by Carrie in SATC). it was an instant hit and has since been recreated a million times over, though the Halston original version has a much better hand feel, with a soft, luxurious touch and none of the stiffness, while still maintaining enough weight to ensure a good hang. the colour is taupe, with cool undertones.
this jacket has a classic boxy cut, meant to sit away from the body, and not be belted. it most likely originally had a removable lining, as there are buttons throughout the inside where it most likely attached. has slit pockets on each hip and satin lining. from the union tag, we know that it was made as of 1974, most likely in the few years following.
very good vintage condition, other than the following flaw: a small hole on the inside of the left sleeve. otherwise just light general wear consistent with age. dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.
