1930s dressing gown - S/M
such a beautiful piece! this vintage dressing gown is as dramatic as it is classic. a simple flattering cut in the most beautiful peach satin, the weight of the fabric ensures that it falls perfectly, skimming the body as it goes. slight padding in the shoulder gives it shape, while the beautiful cuffed sleeves give them a little volume. the material looks something like liquid metal, so so special. best dated to the 1930s, this piece is almost a hundred years old.
works beautifully as a dress for a special occasion and would even make a beautiful wedding dress for someone who was looking to depart slightly from tradition.
piece was professionally dry-cleaned, however, there are a few remaining stains: two ever so slight marks on the collar and a few larger more pronounced ones along the bottom hem. due to their placement they do not prevent the dress from being worn. also, one of the internal ties that keeps the dress properly wrapped is missing - a seamstress has replaced it, so it is functional but the material is not original.
otherwise the dress is in very good vintage condition and ready to be worn.
brand is Simpson’s.
material is probably a viscose satin. best fits women’s M or sizes US 6-8, but could also work on sizes S since the dress can simply be cinched tighter with the belt. always consult the measurements provided, however, as well as our size guide if needed.
