slinky top from Spring 2003 Yves Saint Laurent, when Tom Ford was still lead designer at the iconic fashion house. Ford borrowed from some classic 30s and 40s silhouettes for this collection, but gave them an extremely sexy upgrade. this top fits like a dream, with gathered fabric over the bust, a cinched waist and an incredible back with really flattering lines. walked the runway on Erin Wasson in a medium brown, while ours is in a light icy lavender. love Tom Ford's pieces from his time at YSL, where he had to not only toe a delicate line between staying true to the brand and his own design approach, but also maintain a clear distinction from what he was famously doing at Gucci during the same period.

very good vintage condition. the bottom hem had fallen and was repaired. there is the slightest wear to the material in some places, not at all visible when worn. the seams along the halter portion are unturned, but that is original to the design and not a flaw. dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.

made in Italy. 93% viscose, 7% elastane. marked S, best fits XS/S or US 0-2 maybe 4 (shown on US 2 mannequin and fits quite well).
