excellent set from the now famous, at the time somewhat ill-received, Spring 1996 Prada collection now dubbed the "Ugly Chic" collection. Prada intentionally sent down a whole slew of clashing, sometimes garish colours in bold, mismatching prints - at a time when a lot of fashion was moving slick and sexy Miuccia went the other direction into understated and maybe intellectual. the set consists of a fitted jacket in the bolder of the two tweed patterns, with a large amount of contrasting white, in a sort of cognac/orange colour, and a wrap skirt in the much maligned avocado green tweed with a softer blend of the white. the skirt has a wrap style and falls quite straight. the jacket is single-breasted, cut slim with no padding at the shoulder and is fitted through the waist with those large pockets at each hip. both pieces are lined in thin rayon but remain very light and suitable for year-round wear.

made in Italy. 50% cotton 50% linen with 100% rayon lining. jacket is marked 42 skirt is marked 44 best fits XS/S or US 0-2-4, though cut narrow in the shoulder of the jacket. shown here on US 0 mannequin.
