F/W 1996 Gianni Versace silk dress - XS/S
perfect little silk dress from Gianni Versace's years at his eponymous label, featuring a high neck, body-skimming cut and panels alternating between matte and satin silk in a fun baby pink. knee-length, with a slight a-line skirt.
part of the Fall 1996 collection, where a very similar dress walked the runway, our version being more of the cocktail dress and the other the evening gown, with the full length, and the use of rhinestones or crystals along the center and side portions. the cut, however, and the careful paneling following the lines of the body for an extremely flattering fit, are exactly the same. the runway version was also worn by Naomi Campbell while presenting at the 1996 Oscars.
very good vintage condition. has the slightest wear up near the neck, where the dress buttons, where there is the slightest (very slightest) discolouration. there are a few extremely minor catches, that do not show at all when worn (see last slide). freshly dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.
made in Italy. the material tag is too faded to read, but we believe it is a crepe silk (or silk blend) with satin silk panels. there is a slight stretch to allow for proper fit, as it's cut very close to the body. marked 42, but fits more like a modern 38-40 or US 0-2, maybe 4 (shown on a US 2 mannequin and fit quite well).
