beautiful matching set from masterful designer Azzedine Alaïa's Fall 1989 collection. the set consists of a knit bodysuit with a high-cut leg, mock neck collar, and long Juliet sleeves with ribbed arms. the skirt is also a knit, with a high waist, pencil skirt cut, ribbed waistband and panels that contour the body. both pieces are cut just perfectly and create the most perfect silhouette, Alaïa's signature. many variations of this design walked the runway that season. the colour is a rich but muted cocoa brown will cool undertones.

good vintage condition. of note, regarding the bodysuit, there was wear at the crotch, where the front snaps into the back. this wear has been professionally mended and reinforced and though the work is visible, it is in a hidden location and thus does not affect wear. there was a small hole at one shoulder, which was mended and is very imperceptible, though should be noted. the skirt is in very good condition - no flaws to note, though some wear consistent with age, as always. the set is freshly cleaned and ready to be worn.

made in Italy. fabric tag too faded to read, but it's a stretch wool. skirt marked XS and bodysuit marked S but both fit XS or US 0-2 (shown on US 2 mannequin).
