vintage coat made of thick PVC with slight reflective sheen from British brand Alligator which specialized in rainwear. of note, Mary Quant, important and revolutionary British designer, had wanted to design a line of PVC coats in the 60s, but wasn't able to fulfill orders at the time as her team couldn't get the difficult material to cooperate. they consulted with Alligator and ended up putting out a collaborative line of PVC coats, merging Quant's talent for innovative designs and Alligator's technical know-how. this coat is from after this collaboration, and is not affiliated with Quant,  but has the same material and a beautiful, interesting design all of its own.

the coat is lined and waterproof. it has an abstract pattern in black and red (brighter red than it may appear here - see tag slide) that sort of resembles an oil slick. it has a collar, more or less straight cut, extending slightly outward, though with a slight cocoon shape when buttoned. it has a vent in the back, two pockets and three button closure. it is best dated to the 1970s or very early 80s.

very good vintage condition. the buttons were replaced as 2 of the 3 original ones were missing. there is the slightest horizontal tear at the top of the vent in back, measuring 1/3" (last slide). there is a faint plastic smell from storage, which should fade with use.

no tags. fits M or US 6-8 or S a little more oversized - all depends on your desired effect. shown here on US 2 mannequin. no give at all, and the material is quite structured, especially in the shoulders, so you want it to fit at least a little roomy.
