1980s Gianfranco Ferre suede and leather matching set - S
beautiful matching cognac coloured suede set from Italian designer Gianfranco Ferre, who was at the helm of Dior after Marc Bohan and before Galliano took over in the late 90s. he started his own label in 1978, which he continued throughout the Dior years, and is still operational today after his death.
this set is best dated to the 1980s. it consists of a draped top with dolman sleeves and v-neck and an a-line skirt with some volume at the bottom and a long slit on the left side. the top has viscose sleeves and the suede skirt has multi-coloured panels at the waist made of suede and leather. the v-neck has a snap that can be left undone for a deeper decolletage. the top has a button closure at the waist and the skirt has a concealed zipper at the left hip and a leather tab closure at the waist. the materials are of extremely high quality - the suede is incredibly soft and drapes like fabric.
very good vintage condition. the only flaw is a small catch in the sleeve in the back of the left sleeve. dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.
made in Italy. 100% suede, leather, and viscose. marked US 4 IT 40, fits US 2-4 maybe 6, but wouldn't want it to be too tight or could put undue stress on the suede. shown here on US 2 mannequin and fits just a tad big.
