top from amazing Italian designer Romeo Gigli's Fall 1989 collection. it's constructed off a semi-sheer material that has alternating solid and mesh horizontal stripes. cut boxy, it has a large collar that can be worn as a large cowl neck as we have it here or could be stretched over the shoulders and bust, which would reduce top's transparency across the bust. the extra special part is the incredibly long sleeves, which can be worn long or scrunched up the whole length of the arm. a similar look can be seen on that season's runway, where another striped top has its incredibly long sleeves worn scrunched up. top was manufactured in 1990.
