perfect jacket from John Galliano's years at Maison Margiela, where he lead the design team from 2015 until when he left last year in 2024. this jacket is from his Spring 2016 collection, which he described as "lo-fi sci-fi" at the time, melding vintage and futuristic elements to create something new. 

our jacket is a perfect example, having a bit of a classic 60s mod cut with rounded edges, bracelet length sleeve and a cropped fit in an altogether futuristic fabric - shiny, almost wet looking, slightly irridescent, with a subtle visible thread effect running throughout. the jacket shares design elements with two pieces that walked the runway that season, having the shape and cut of one jacket, though with a different collar, buttons, and the addition of those beautiful puffed up pockets on ours, but in the fabric of another.

has the coveted white, blank label, used exclusively by Margiela at the beginning of his career and now reserved for runway looks. vented at the waist, with two functional breast pockets, and a three button closure across the chest.

excellent vintage condition. no flaws. dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.

made in Italy. 100% polyester. nylon used as secondary fabric and rayon lining in pocket. marked 40, best fits XS/S or US 0-2 maybe 4 depending on desired fit. shown here on US 0 mannequin with 32" bust and fits quite well.
