S/S 1997 Jean Paul Gaultier sheer silk chiffon pants with gold foil trim - XS/S
beautiful sheer silk chiffon pants from designer Jean Paul Gaultier, best dated to his Spring 1997 collection, where you see the use of the same intricate gold foil trim on pants, jackets and skirts. you also see the layering of sheer pieces. these pants have a slim leg, with a mid-rise waist, and are very sheer, meaning they will show whatever is worn underneath. they have two back pockets and are white, with the slightest pink tinge.
condition is good other than the following flaws: they have two repairs where the chiffon was torn and fusing was used to conceal the damage and also stabilize the silk. these spots are not visible (see last slide). the other flaw is that the waistband was stretched out and the wrong type of elastic was used to replace it - this results in a twisted effect (see before last slide) when the pants are on hanger, but does not affect wear when the pants are on a body and the waistband is stretched, as you can see here on the mannequin. the price reflects the damage. the pants are dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.
