wonderful exaggerated balloon harem style pant from Yves Saint Laurent's Spring 1980 runway collection, which walked in both red and yellow that season. the pants feature a fitted waistband and exaggerated ballooned legs made of gathered fabric and strategic pleating that finish off in elasticized cuffs at the ankle. quite rare, they pull from North African and Middle-Eastern influences which Saint Laurent was heavily exploring at the end of the 1970s and into the 80s. the pants clasp on the side with a zipper closure beneath and have a slash pocket at each hip.

excellent vintage condition, the fabric of the pants is naturally textured and speckled, not from wear. the clasp at the waist was missing and had been replaced. they are freshly dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.

made in France. no material tag, feel like a wool/cotton blend perhaps. marked 42, best fit M or US 6-8 (slightly clamped on the waist on the US 2 mannequin).
