beautiful dress from the Spring 1999 Prada collection. this particular style didn't walk the runway but other pieces featuring the same checkered grid pattern were featured. the pattern has a subtle repeating "Prada" in the check.

the dress is constructed of two layers of thin sheer stretch silk - the bottom one cream coloured. beautifully constructed, will breathe nicely in the Summer as both layers are silk. not see-through due to layered effect. while there is stretch to the silk for comfort, it's still very form-fitted and features a seam at the bottom that has very little stretch and restricts movement to a certain degree (ie you will not be squatting in this dress).

excellent vintage condition - no flaws and freshly dry-cleaned.

made in Italy. 96% silk and 4% other fibres (most likely elastane). lining is same. marked 38, best fits US 0, maybe 2 (seen on a US 2, but was extremely tight and the mannequin's leg needed to be slightly tilted to get it on). cut quite square, so beware if shaped very curvy, might be very tight on curves and not quite tight enough at waist.
