very rare and collectible skirt from Prada's sought-after Spring 1997 collection. the skirt walked the runway and can also be seen on Amber Valletta in the beautiful campaign shot by Glen Luchford. there are a few different patterns that are well remembered from Spring 1997, and one of them is this silk brocade featuring a repeating small scale floral pattern, which depicts a taupe and green vine and leaf motif accented by bright, almost neon pink and green flowers on a light silver background. tight throughout the hips and waist, with a slight a-line and short train.

excellent vintage condition, with no flaws, though it is important to note that the skirt was altered by its previous owner to bring in the waist and shorten the length. we believe that the length was altered evenly all around, as the train was preserved. the waist was properly taken in, with no visible alterations, with a possibly new zipper (there are darts sewn into the front and back, but we believe that those are part of the original design). otherwise dry-cleaned and ready to be worn. price reflects the fact that it was altered.
