beautiful dress from French label Leonard, starting initially as a textile purveyor and moving into clothing fabrication in the late 1950s under the leadership of Daniel Tribouillard as head designer. these heavily patterned silk jersey dresses were first started in the 1970s and continued to be produced throughout the years. this one is best dated to the ealy 2000s, when Tribouillard was still at the helm, and thus has a few more modern touches than the earlier versions, most notably the stunning open cowl back. the dress features a high neck with a button closure in the back, three-quarter length sleeves, the slightest flare bottom - not a tight pencil cut but not quite an a-line, and slit over the left thigh.

bright floral pattern on a white background. material has a slight sheen.

very good vintage condition - a few extremely minor catches here and there that do not show at all when worn (example shown in the last slide). no holes or stains or marks. freshly dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.

100% silk. marked 40, best fits XS-S or US 2-4-6 depending on desired effect. has stretch as its a silk jersey. shown on a US 2 mannequin.
