F/W 1977 Yves Saint Laurent runway "Les Chinoises" collection silk jacket with velvet trim - XS/S/M
rare jacket from the famous Fall 1977 "Les Chinoises" Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche collection that he paired with the launch of his Opium fragrance. the jacket is made of a black and white patterned silk, cut square and boxy, with a short standing collar and folded cuffs. the collar, cuffs and front bib are in a black velvet, with black piping detail throughout. the jacket is fastened with shiny black buttons, coned at the top - note that the bottom button was missing and has been replaced with a generic black button, not very noticeable when worn but bares mention of course. has a concealed pocket at each hip and a slightly cropped sleeve.
the jacket is documented in a photo from the day of the runway presentation, with the model standing next to the designer backstage.
excellent vintage condition other than the replaced button. dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.
made in France. not marked but silk with what feels like cotton velvet and piping. marked 36, bets fits XS/S or US 0-2. shown here on US 0 mannequin with 32" bust and 33.5" hips.
