wool skirt from Italian brand Callaghan when it was helmed by fashion favourite Romeo Gigli in the late 1980s and early 1990s. the skirt is made of an almost lace textured wool in a dark brown and is layered with a tiered effect at the bottom, with a ribbed waistband. the skirt is from the Fall 1987 collection - you see a skirt made of the same fabric, in an also tiered design, in an editorial shot by Beate Hansen from L'Officiel Paris' October/November 1987 issue (image courtesy of Featherstone Vintage).

good vintage condition. the waistband was stretched out and replaced. there is some slight wear at the very bottom of the skirt, where it is quite fitted around the knees - some hand mending was necessary to the lace in that area. cleaned and ready to be worn. 

made in Italy. 100% wool. marked US 8 IT 42, fits more like a modern XS or US 0-2 and is especially tight around the thighs, hips and knees. shown here on US 2 mannequin with 24.5" waist and 34" hips.
