F/W 2008 Marc Jacobs runway dress and headband in collaboration with Stephen Jones - XS
incredible dress and headband from Marc Jacob's Fall 2008 collection, walking the runway as look #2 for the dress and look #40 for the headband, though it was featured in different colours throughout. the collection as a whole has a 1980s does 30s look with 1980s futuristic elements peppered throughout, and we love the combination here of the pre-war style dress with the Blade Runner-esque headband. the dress, despite a very vintage feel, has that incredible voluminous pleating technique in the back, ballooning out to resemble almost a turtle shell, that is decidedly modern.
the dress has a pastel pink, stiff silk blend top, with a dress shirt style and collar, attached to a soft grey wool midi length skirt. the headband is made of soft, fuzzy wool, in a pastel mint green, and is meant to be worn horizontal, around the head. the headband is designed by Jacobs in collaboration with Stephen Jones, master milliner, who have a long history of working together, even to this day when they made Rihanna's hat to complement her Marc Jacobs look for the 2025 MET Gala.
very good vintage condition. the wool portion of dress has the slightest of wear, nothing visible when worn. the silk blend top is perfect, as is the headband. everything dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.
