F/W 2001 Chanel by Karl Lagerfeld fluted mermaid wool skirt with multi-colour pattern - S/M
unique skirt from Chanel's Fall 2001 collection by Karl Lagerfeld. the same skirt in an alternate pattern walked the runway, as did a few other pieces featuring a similar pattern to ours, with colourful squares making a sort of grid pattern, with the interlocking Cs featured throughout. the skirt has a fluted mermaid cut flaring out below the knee and finished off with a ribbon trim. the skirt is meant to be worn mid-rise and not necessarily hug the waist and thighs. has some gathering at the waist, as well as a pocket in front at each hip. invisible zipper in the back as a closure.
good vintage condition. has a few small catches in the wool, one on the front of the waistband, another in the seat in back, though these are barely visible when worn due to the nature of the pattern (see final slide). condition reflected in the price. dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.
made in France. 100% wool, 100% silk lining and ribbon trim at bottom. marked 38, best fits S/M or US 6 maybe 8 depending on desired effect. cut rather straight, especially in the hips, and meant to be worn mid-rise, slightly below natural waist, as we see it shown on runway - not meant to hug curves or fit and flare. shown here clamped on US 0 mannequin, but please refer to measurements to ensure the best fit.
