beautiful dress from the Fall 1987 collection by Yves Saint Laurent for his ready-to-wear Rive Gauche line. beautiful wide scoop neck with three-quarter sleeves, fitted through the waist and thighs with that beautiful movement as of the knee. made of deep black velvet, with a sheer silk chiffon bottom, accented by a black silk satin ribbon. the dress walked the runway that season paired with another silk ribbon tied at the waist. 

excellent vintage condition - slightest of fray at the bottom of the silk in one instance, though this gets lost in the folds and doesn't show at all when on. dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.

made in France. materials not listed, feels like maybe rayon velvet with silk chiffon and silk ribbon. marked 40, best fits S/M or US 4-6. shown here, unclamped, on US 0 mannequin with 32" bust, 23.5" waist and 33.5" hips fitting slightly too large.
