S/S 1996 Gianni Versace mod neon orange dress with silver medusa buttons - S/M
beautiful dress from Gianni Versace's Spring 1996 collection, which Vogue called probably the designer's most minimalist prior to his tragic death. decidedly mod, the collection featured variations of trim, fitted and collared wool pieces with rows of buttons in either black, white or the brightest of neons. our dress didn't walk the runway, though its two-piece counterpart was featured on Karen Mulder.
the dress consists of a neon orange wool or wool blend dress with collar, short sleeves and a slim cut with slash pockets at each hip, the whole accented by a long row of covered buttons with a silver Versace medusa head in the center. there is also a tab in the back at the waist buckled on each side, a beautiful detail that also allows a little bit of cinching for shape. lined in what feels like silk or silk blend with Medusa pattern throughout.
very good vintage condition, tiny amount of wear to the paint on the metal buckles on the back. freshly dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.
made in Italy. no material tag, feels like wool and silk or silk blend lining. marked 42/8, best fits S/M or US 4-6. shown here unclamped on US 0 mannequin. shouldn't be too tight to prevent gaping between buttons.
