beautiful silk vest from Jean Paul Gaultier's Spring 1989 collection, shown on the runway in a series of colours that season, including red, yellow and bronze. made of black silk, it has a standard buttoned waistcoat look in front, but a beautiful open back when turned around, made of criss-cross straps up top and a belted adjustable strap at the waist. this ensures not only an interesting look but also a cinched fit.

good vintage condition. the silk appears to be slightly textured naturally, but there is some slight wear to the material. there are two corners on the buckle on back where the silk is worn through a little. the issues are minimal and do not affect wear or the longevity of the piece, as long as carefully handled and cleaned. item is dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.

made in Italy. no material tag but silk with what feels like rayon lining. marked 40, fits XS/S/M or US 2-4-6 as the belt is adjustable. shown here on US 2 mannequin with 32" bust.
