beautiful dress from master designer Azzedine Alaïa. 

Alaïa made a lot of variations on the basic structure of these light knit dress, this one featuring a deep v neck, ribbed collar, raised seaming and panelled bottom for volume. there is also ruching in the back along the zipper, small details in 

Alaïa dresses that make all the difference when it comes to fit and quality of the garment. a lot of thought and care was put into something seemingly simple. colour is a light greige, in between a grey and beige. best dated to early 1990s or maybe late 1980s.

excellent vintage condition. only flaw is two instances along the front raised seam where some of the thread has come loose. this is not structural, and does not show at all when worn. dry-cleaned and ready to wear.

no material tag. best fits M or US 6-8 or 4 a little oversized (shown here on a US 2 mannequin, not clamped, but obviously fits a little large).
