Louis Féraud cocoon coat in large paisley print - O/S
beautiful cocoon shaped coat by French designer Louis Féraud, who started out in Haute Couture and opened a ready to wear label in the late 1970s. this coat is Louis Féraud Set, which might be an off-shoot of the main rtw label.
the coat has a beautiful shape, wrapping around the body with a double-breasted closure and coming in slightly at the bottom for that cocoon cut. it has a wide shawl collar and extra long sleeves that can be folded back at the cuff (we have shown them both long and folded back). made of a 100% cotton velvet, in a deep plum with beige, mustard yellow and deep blue paisley throughout. the coat is lined in viscose satin but is not incredibly heavy, suitable for chilly weather but not freezing temps unless properly layered. best dated to the 1990s.
excellent vintage condition, with just the slightest wear to the velvet in some places, like the large buttons in front. it's possible that a slight alteration was performed, as there is a horizontal line in back and in the lining, though it's not clear what would have been altered. the line barely shows as it was strategically placed to blend with the row of paisley and does not affect wear. three of the four inside buttons are missing, though this does not affect wear at all of course and does not show as they are inside the coat. dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.
