amazing and ultra rare jacket from the Spring 1993 Complice collection designed by Dolce & Gabbana. Complice was an Italian brand, designed by Gianni Versace in the late 1970s-early 80s, then by Claude Montana throughout much of the 80s and then by Dolce & Gabbana starting in 1988 throughout the early 1990s, during the first few years of their own brand. they did a number of over the top, themed collections in the early 90s - the Spring 1993 collection, one of the more recognizable and memorable collections, was all about the swinging 60s and hippie fashion. they put a decidedly European spin on the counter-culture look, which we usually see steeped in Americana - the models walked adorned in peace signs, flower power, and giant crowns and jewels, a nod to Beatle mania and the Queen. the Complice collection mirrored their own label's S/S 1993 collection, also dripping in the same cultural cues.

the jacket has a patchwork flower quilt pattern, which was featured a few times on the runway. it has a straight cut with single breasted construction and no vent. two hip pockets and one breast pocket. it is semi-lined through the shoulders and sleeves.

very good vintage condition. the slightest fading to the black. the lining has some visible wear, especially where it attaches at the collar, but does not affect the jacket's look at all. has the slightest wear to the bottom of the cuff on the sleeves.

made in Italy. 100% cotton, lining cupro. marked IT 46, US 12, best fits US 4-6-8 maybe 10 depending on desired fit. shown on US 2 mannequin, oversized.
