unique jacket from master American designer Geoffrey Beene. classic chore coat style, with folded collar and buttoned front, but with great details like the flap pockets, the pleated back - giving the coat a beautiful line - the delicate butterfly pattern contrasted by the blue gingham collar, and the subtle silver vertical threading. the sleeves can also be folded back for that same blue gingham on the cuffs. notice how the butterfly pattern matches up, like on the flap pockets and even across the front, where the jacket meets and buttons. real attention to detail that you only get from top designers, even in a seemingly simple piece like this.

excellent vintage condition, no real flaws. the buttons appear to be wood painted lilac and there is a slight rubbing off of the paint in a few discreet spots. dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.

no tags, fabric feels like a cotton, but has the slightest sheen/opalescence. fits XS/S/M/L depending on desired effect, though definitely intended to fit boxy and cut a little narrow in the shoulder. shown here on US 2 mannequin with 32" bust and 34" hips.
