beautiful dress from American designer Isaac Mizrahi, who entered the New York fashion scene in the late 1980s through a series of trunk shows, eventually getting his own line that came to be backed by Chanel, affording him access to the top fabrics and finishings at the time. the label fizzled out by the late 1990s and eventually the name was licensed.

the dress is made of a light black wool knit, fitted through the body and hips but with lots of stretch. has a wide bateau neckline, fitting off the shoulder, and accented by three rows of wide silk ruffles with so much volume that they sit off the body for a dramatic look.

very good vintage condition, the dress is new with tags. it has a series of small pinholes however, possibly moth damage from storage years ago, that have been professionally mended and do not show when on. freshly dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.

made in USA. 98% wool 2% lycra and 100% silk ruffles. marked 8, best fits US 2-4-6-8 or S/M. shown here on US 0 mannequin with 32" bust 23.5" waist and 33.5" hips fitting a little too large.
