beautiful silk dress from Emanuel Ungaro Paris. in the later years of Ungaro's career, a young (now famous) Giambattista Valli was at his label working under him. they grew so close that he ended up seeing him as his eventual successor - so much so that he handed him over the ready-to-wear reigns in the beginning of the 2000s and concentrated his own efforts on Haute Couture. Giambattista Valli, who now has his own label and Haute Couture house, remained there a few years, only to leave in 2006 before the label fell on harder and harder times (the Lindsay Lohan fiasco being the most memorable one).

this dress is best dated to the Spring 2004 collection, where you see the same colourful animal print and use of twisted rope belts. it features a laced up neckline, ruffled sleeves, a high slit and the low-slung rope belt mentioned above. the lacing and rope belt are finished off with gold metal hardware. the dress is peachy-pink silk tiger print, with pale peach silk lining. it is semi-sheer only in the sleeves, where it is not lined. the silk has a matte finish and crepe like hand feel.

excellent vintage condition. no flaws. dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.

made in Italy. 100% silk and silk lining. marked IT 40, best fits S-M or US 2-4-6 due to the nature of cut and how it's meant to flow over the body more like a caftan and not be fitted or fit and flare (shown on US 2 mannequin).
