special coat from beloved French designer Jean-Charles de Castelbajac. known for his playful designs, maybe most famous for the teddy bear coat and his time at Iceberg where we incorporated cartoon characters into otherwise high-end wool knits. this coat shares that same playful design ethos, from the Fall 1992 collection where it walked the runway with similar counterparts.

made of forest green cotton canvas exterior and a plush faux fur purple lining, the coat has purple lettering scrolled throughout inspired by poems by Marcel Proust. a large panel hangs off the back, which can be left down, snapped up into a hood or rolled into a sausage and secured with canvas straps - genius and very Castelbajac. there is also an animal portrayed on the back, with leather accents. the jacket closes by one button in front.

excellent vintage condition. the button for closure was missing and has been replaced, no other flaws to note. dry-cleaned and ready to be worn.

made in France. 100% cotton, 100% leather accents, 67% acrylic and 33% cotton faux fur lining. marked size 1, equivalent to S, best fits S/M as it's meant to be worn oversized. shown on XS mannequin with 32" bust and 33.5" hips.
